Hip Hop Dance Moves Back to ProHipHop

I'm in the process of clearing out the projects I can't support and focusing on those I can. Even though I think this could be a great blog, I'm folding my hip hop dance blogging once again into ProHipHop.

However, I will do link posts here back to whatever I post there so, if you're a subscriber and you just want the hip hop dance posts, stay subscribed and I'll keep you updated.

Hip Hop Research: Book List at 51 Academic Titles & Growing!

Hip Hop Research, a new blog from Clyde Smith devoted to documenting academic studies of hip hop, has reached 51 titles with more on the way.

Entries feature the book's cover art, when available, and basic links to WorldCat, a world library search engine, as well as options from Amazon and Google for checking out the book's content.

The long term goal is to use this book list as a basis for an annotated bibligraphy of academic studies of hip hop but it's pretty cool just to see what researchers have already accomplished in this area of study.

Please pass this news on to students, educators, researchers and folks who like to know what's up!

Introducing Ill Moves: Hip Hop Dance

Ill Moves is going to be an occasional blog where I can gather material related to hip hop dance from news links to YouTube videos.  In particular, I'll use it to post large groups of videos that don't fit at VidRap or cover more ground than needed at ProHipHop.

Clyde Smith is the "I" in the preceding paragraph. In addition to blogging at ProHipHop and Vidrap, among other such sites, Clyde also has a background in dance about which you can learn more at Cultural Research.
